RMT signal staff have voted in favour of strike action, raising the prospect of possible national rail strikes. RMT 's General Secretary Bob Crow has said the union will give Network Rail the time to return to the table for negotations. The Conservatives have said the RMT is holding "Brown's weak government to ransom" and trying to bring the country back to the 70s.
