No, Nick Clegg didn't kick my baby

No, Nick Clegg didn't kick my baby

Is this 2011's strangest political denial? "Politicians are supposed to kiss babies, not knock them over", BBC North West gleefully announced during its report of the day's campaigning in Oldham East and Saddleworth yesterday (14 minutes in), as they suggested Nick Clegg knocked over a pram and subsequently tried to blame it on Newsnight's political editor Michael Crick. But the father of the baby in question, editor of the hyperlocal blog Saddleworth News, said the Liberal Democrat leader was innocent, tweeting "I'd like to make it clear that Nick Clegg didn't knock over my daughter!". He later added the baby in question was eating her tea, and "not available for comment".
