We're hiring

PoliticsHome.com is looking for interns to join our growing team.

PoliticsHome.com, launched in April of 2008, is a leading political news and research resource. We provide comprehensive, up-to the minute coverage of all aspects of British politics and have recently greatly expanded our service.

We are offering the opportunity of a three-month internship (expenses only) in our growing News team.

This is a unique chance to gain real work experience in the heart of Westminster.

The successful candidates will need to demonstrate:

-           An excellent level of UK political knowledge

-          The ability to write well, quickly and concisely

-          A good instinct for spotting breaking news and fresh developments

-          The ability to work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines

-          Familiarity with the leading political opinion-formers, commentators, blogs and international issues

-          A sound knowledge and acquaintance with PoliticsHome

Candidates should also be familiar with and enthusiastic about the online political media and must be flexible on working hours which will include working early mornings and weekends. We are located in Westminster with excellent access to public transport.

Previous work experience in politics is beneficial but not a requirement.

The application deadline is midday, Friday 10 June, but early applications are appreciated and appointments may be made before the closing date.

Please email hr@politicshome.com with a CV and covering letter explaining your suitability for the position.

If an intern is expected to work specific hours and perform specific tasks (as opposed to merely observing and work shadowing) they probably qualify as "workers" and are entitled to the minimum wage http://bit.ly/lw5CU2

Mark

If you're hiring, then they aren't interns!
