Public opinion today

Join the PoliticsHome Panel

PoliticsHome specialises in innovative opinion research. Every day we measure opinion on a whole range of political issues - from the importance people place on different issues, to how people see the different political personalities, to how people divide on the big issues of the day.

Our public opinion research divides into different categories:

Polls: These are conducted online, using our panel of voters from across the country. We only publish surveys with more than 1,000 responses, and the results are always weighted by age, gender and political party identification to represent the nation at large.

Trackers: Also conducted online, these use a rotating series of regular trackers, conducted using a smaller sample and measured in a rolling average so that, again, over 1,000 interviews go to each published result. For our trackers, special panels of respondents are used who have agreed to answer regular questions - this consistency of sample allows for a greater sensitivity of tracking moving opinion.

Special online focus groups and deliberative surveys: going into an issue in greater depth and allowing people to make their mind up over time.

We welcome anyone who wishes to contribute their opinions. Members of the PoliticsHome panel receive a short survey by email twice a week. The questions are designed to be stimulating to answer and an enjoyable part of your weekly routine. You do not have to take part every day - just when you have time! Our panel members say it helps them make their mind up about the issues of the day

The results are analysed and published on PoliticsHome as well as featuring across the national media.  Our poll results have recently been covered by the Guardian, the Sunday Telegraph, the Financial Times, the Economist, the News of the World, the Spectator and the New Statesman.

Of course, you can unsubscribe whenever you like.
