Latest from Dot Commons
Conservative MPs are electing a new member of the 1922 executive committee today. Dot hears it is a contest between the Cornerstone Group, in the form of Chris Kelly, and the new 301 grouping, whose candidate is George Hollingbery. "It is a straight fight between the old guard and the new kids on the block," one Tory told Dot. The modernisers in the 301, named after the number of seats the Tories need to gain an overall majority at the next election, is said to have 120 MPs. It remains to be seen if they have enough strength to get their man onto the 1922 executive.
