Tony's Twitter trial

Tony's Twitter trial

Tony Blair's decision to take to the twittersphere yesterday for a discussion in aid of Harmony Week for the Tony Blair Faith Foundation didn't turn out quite as he might have hoped; a shame, given his press office's announcement that he had undergone social media training to prepare.

Critics hijacked the hashtag #AskTony, bombarding the former PM - who pointedly ignored the angry tweeters - with comments about Iraq, Gordon Brown and his personal fortune.

Questions ranged from the facetious - 'Any sign of those WMDs yet?' -  to the downright hostile 'how many rosary beads do you need for crimes against humanity?'

Given the mixed success of his first dance with the capricious blue bird, Dot imagines Mr Blair will not be making this an annual event.
