The Commons is abuzz with news about the new MP for Bradford West. Gorgeous George has just arrived at St Stephen’s entrance, with his wife, and revealed who will be his supporters when he takes the oath later today. Father of the House Sir Peter Tapsell and Labour MP for Bradford South Gerry Sutcliffe will do the honours. In accordance with the rules, Galloway will present himself at the Bar of the House after departmental questions and any ministerial statements and urgent questions. He either swear of affirm the oath of allegiance to the Queen, sign the register and shake hands with the Speaker. A nice bit of Parliamentary theatre to start the new term.
