It’s the local elections, dummy

A woman has been arrested after a shop dummy was entered as a candidate for council elections in Aberdeen.

It’s unclear whether the move was an ill-tempered satire of the local council, or just a surreal stunt to amuse a bored Aberdonian.

Curiously, the shop dummy herself was not arrested, and is still at large.

There are unconfirmed reports the dummy has been inundated with calls from Lib Dem constituency associations around the country asking her to stand for the party.
