News, gossip and insight from PoliticsHome Editor Paul Waugh

Brixton has to wait

Michael Gove's interview in the Daily Mail is a great read, not least on his own upbringing and home life.

But he also has a pay-off that combines sympathy with his trademark sense of mischief:

"Huhne is remarkable. He appeared to be a nerveless vicar, one of those people who was never burdened by self-doubt and who could take on all-comers.

"Now people will remember him only for the fall; from having been a few places away from being Deputy Prime Minister to suddenly being in Brixton nick."

After today, it looks like the Education Secretary will have to wait a little longer for that Brixton moment.

Be briefed for £1.50 a week...
