Former Tory Chief Whip Andrew Mitchell is to be separated from his famous 'plebgate' bicycle, according to the Daily Mail. Mitchell is to peddle his wares online as his famous bicycle is auctioned on eBay for charity after thieves tried to steal it - twice!
Mr Mitchell believes the bicycle, with its distinctive basket, is too easily recognised since the broadcast of CCTV footage of his Downing St altercation.
A friend of the Tory MP said the bicycle is “very recognisable, partly because of the basket. If he sells it, he’ll be buying a new one because cycling is just about the only exercise he gets.”
Maybe Mitchell should avoid cycling altogether in future.
