Labour's Southern Bastions
Outside of London and its satellite commuter towns the South of England is dominated by the and Liberal Democrats. Labour’s seats are largely confined to urban seats like those in Southampton, Portsmouth and Plymouth. The swing to the Conservatives here remains strong, though has fallen slightly since our 2008 poll, suggesting John Denham may save his Southampton Itchen seat after all.
