Train operating companies should offer "premium economy" carriages to ease overcrowding, Alok Sharma has said. The Conservative MP and Parliamentary Private Secretary to Treasury Minister Mark Hoban told Parliament that Chiltern Railways had offered its customers a no-frills version of first class for £20, and urged other operators to do the same.
