Conservative MP and GP Sarah Wollaston has warned David Cameron that his health reforms could destroy the NHS. In an article for the Sunday Telegraph, Dr Wollaston warns that the removal of middle management jobs could leave doctors overwhelmed. She calls elements of the reforms “completely unrealistic” and “doomed to fail” and says the reorganisation could create an NHS that is “belly-up, not top-down”.
Dr Wollaston's comments coincide with claims in the Observer that the Department of Health has been suppressing poll reports which show a record level of satisfaction with the NHS.
