Philip Hollobone the Conservative MP seeking to ban the burkah has been warned he could face legal action if he refuses to meet with constituents wearing the full-faced veil.
Conservative MP Philip Hollobone has been threatened with legal action over his requests for his consituents to remove face veils during advice surgeries.
The Conservative MP Philip Hollobone has said that he will not receive constituents who come to his public meeting in a veil. Mr Hollobone, who has tabled a bill to ban the wearing of the burka in public places, said that if a woman refused to remove her burka he would invite her to communicate through letters.
MPs have presented private members bills across a range of topics, most notably Conservative Philip Hollobone's measure to ban the burqa. Members who were succesful in a ballot can present bills, the vast majority of which will fail due to lack of Parliamentary time.
