Tory MP may face tarmac probe

Conservative MP Graham Stuart may face an inquiry after council contractors resurfaced the road outside his house free of charge. George McManus, the local Labour chairman in Beverley and Holderness, has complained to the Parliamentary Standards Commissioner calling the situation “reprehensible”.

The Conservative leader of the education select committee has criticised the government's plans for more academies, aying that they had not received enough debate in the House of Commons. Graham Stuart said "to make changes to public services of this importance ideally you would have longer to reflect."
