BallsToBalls
Ed Balls has been forced to climb down on this issue because he misread public opinion and under-estimated the potential for public backlash. This 'man' (in the vaguest sense of the term) has delusions of grandeur and wants to dictate what parents and children think every minute of the day, without consideration for our civil rights. His speech impediment has clearly left him feeling scarred and impotent and so he is trying to wrest from parents the responsibility for their children.
He cannot bear the thought that ANYONE should be doing something outside of the control of this Stalin-esque government ... just look at what he is trying to do to Home Education - that last bastion of the separation of family and state. That is another issue on which he under-estimated the power of the people and the fight that those parents would bring to his front door.
