Gordon Brown proclaims that Labour can still win. His hopes hold no surprise. Unpopular prime ministers cannot permit themselves to imagine otherwise. To function through a general election campaign some small part of them has to believe the impossible might yet be rendered possible. For all the squalls that have lately hit David Cameron’s Conservatives Mr Brown’s colleagues mostly allow themselves a more realistic view.

J A BROWN

The conservatives will be glad of this news as the last poll showed a lead of only 9%. The 10% figure puts the conservatives into a majority rather than a hung parliament. If the lead increases to 11% a mojority of 30ish a 12% lead a majority of 50 ish. Between 105 and 140 Labour mps could lose their jobs with supporting the blier and brown policies. They had their chance but were scared to death of many baby. Only yourselves to blame. After seing the liebor scripwriter campbell on the AM show will now be voting for David Cameron.
