New polls point to hung parliament

Two new opinion polls suggest a hung parliament to be the likely outcome in a general election. A ComRes poll in The Independent has the Tory lead at 5 points, suggesting Labour would remain the largest party and a YouGov poll for The Sun has the Tories ahead by 7, pointing to no overall majority.

The story is the polls are narrowing - the momentum is with Labour. the conservatives have been found out because they have no political project. All spin no substance.

Simon I disagree. The problem is that the parties are to busy trying to score minor points off of each other, Ashcroft, Bullying etc. This clouds the issue with the electorate. The Tories do have policies as do the other parties. Only Labour is able to put the detail in as only they have access to the economic databases and they are not doing this. The voters cannot be expect that either the LDs or the Tories to speculate on the information and forecasts that are held within these databases. I believe that the protocol is that once an election has been announced then all this information SHOULD be made available to the opposition so they can flesh out their policies. The operative word being “PROTOCOL” which Brown has been known to flout when it is not to his benefit, call me a cynic but he has a track record on this sort of thing...

Cameron shot himself in the foot over the vote on the Lisbon Treaty, he should reverse it. On immigration as well he's not put himself in the limelight we don't know what he intends. All parties do what they want and what the public want is ignored. They want a vote on the L Treaty, a halt to immigration totally, those here illegally sent back, and the economy take second place, dealt with yes but in a manner that won't harm jobs and trade. If he had done this Cameron would be over 15% in front by now. None listen to the people and think they can ride shod over them well they cannot, that's why they have decided to vote for ukip or the bnp, they will do what they want have stated so. They are supposed to be well educated at the most elite place in the country, yet they fail to get this simple message. That speaks volumes for their sincerity, and commonsense.
