UK and France sign nuclear agreement
David Cameron has said his relationship with Nicolas Sarkozy is "easily strong enough to survive the odd bump", and praised the strong ties between the two countries.
The Prime Minister is in Paris today to agree a deal to strengthen nuclear power links between the UK in France. The Government said the agreement - which will create more than 1,500 jobs in the UK - shows their commitment to developing nuclear energy "as part of a diversified energy mix".
The two leaders will also discuss defence links between the two countries, with the joint development of a future unmanned aircraft expected to be announced.
Downing Street said the nuclear agreement would "signal our shared commitment to the future of civil nuclear power, setting out a shared long term vision of safe, secure, sustainable and affordable energy, that supports growth and helps to deliver our emission reductions targets".
