News Corp 'hacked TV rival'

News Corp 'hacked TV rival'
News Corp staff used computer hacking to undermine the business of a major TV rival, according to the BBC's Panorama programme. Emails reveal that a software company owned by News Corp, NDS, cracked the smart card codes of now-defunct ONdigital, then owned by the ITV companies Granada and Carlton. Documents obtained by the Independent also allege an Italian computer expert, who is the prime suspect in a piracy ring trial in Italy, was receiving regular payments from a bank account controlled by News International.
