Labour calls on Govt to take action on riot report
Labour has put pressure on the Government to take action after the report into the cause of last summer’s riots said poor education and lack of opportunity for young people were partially to blame for the violence.

Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper said the Government’s response had been “very limited” and called for a “much more comprehensive” response.

On the Today programme this morning the chair of the Riots, Communities and Victims Panel, Darra Singh, said there was a group in society that needed "intensive intervention" and that it was important not to "paper over the cracks".
