PM welcomes Christian fightback
David Cameron has told the church that he does not want to fall out with Christians over plans to allow gay marriage. At an Easter reception in Downing Street today, the Prime Minister said there was a "Christian fightback" taking place which should be welcomed, and that "the values of the Bible, the values of Christianity are the values that we need". However, he warned there would be "strong arguments and some strong words" in the coming months about civil partnerships.
