EU border controls reintroduced

EU border controls reintroduced
EU home affairs ministers have agreed to allow the reintroduction of border controls by member states.

Countries within the Schengen zone will be allowed to put border checks back in place if a country persistently fails to stop illegal immigrants from entering the zone. After monitoring and approval by other member states measures could be imposed for between six months and two years. Greece has regularly been criticised in the past for failing to protect its border with Turkey.
