MPs urge No.10 for press regulation
MPs and peers have urged the Prime Minister to introduce statutory regulations on the press following the Leveson Inquiry into press standards.

In the letter, published in the Guardian, 42 MPs and two peers said, "No one wants our media controlled by the Government but, to be credible, any new regulator must be independent of the press as well as from politicians".

Lord Justice Leveson is due to publish his findings  at the end of this month.
