MPs and peers criticise secret courts plan
Government plans to allow more secret court evidence sessions have been criticised by the Joint Committee on Human Rights. The Justice and Security Bill would allow more civil court cases to be held in secret, and would mean some defendants would not hear all the evidence against them. In their report, MPs and Peers called the plan a radical departure from the British tradition of fair and open justice.
