A YouGov poll for The Sun found that 43 per cent of respondents said politicians should not interfere in press regulation because “it is vital for our democracy that a free press is protected, whatever the failings of a few journalists”. The Leveson Inquiry’s findings will be delivered to the PM within the next two weeks.
