Carlile's child safety warning

Carlile's child safety warning
Two reports out today have criticised the child protection measures in place by Doncaster council.

Lib Dem peer Lord Carlile had been asked to carry out a review by Michael Gove after two pre-teen brothers were convicted in 2009 of torturing two other boys. He found that while the there was not the same “shambolic situation” as when the attack took place, weaknesses remain in the system.

Ofsted has also published the findings of an unannounced inspection of the council, and vulnerable children are still at risk from poor council care.
