Boris slams BoE over 'moral case' for banking
London Mayor Boris Johnson has attacked the Bank of England and its employees, including Sir Mervyn King, saying that they had failed to make the moral case for banking. In an interview with The Times, he argued too few people were defending banking as "a vitally important function doing things that are crucial for enterprise in this city".
Meanwhile, Mr Johson uses his Daily Telegraph piece today to argue David Cameron should be more like Margaret Thatcher and reject calls for an increase to the European Union's budget.
