The Prime Minister's insistence that prisoners will not be allowed the vote is mere political posturing, a Liberal Democrat peer has told the Telegraph. Lord Lester - sitting on a commission creating a new British Bill of Rights - said when questioned on whether the UK would have to bring in votes for prisoners: “Of course – either that or we are in the same position as in Greece under junta. Greece had to leave the Council of Europe."
