Polls close in by-elections
Polls have closed in three by-elections in England, with Labour hoping to hold on to the seats in the face of opposition from UKIP and Respect.
The Middlesbrough and Croydon North by-elections come after the deaths of sitting MPs Malcolm Wicks and Sir Stuart Bell, while the election in Rotherham was triggered by the resignation of Denis MacShane after he was censured over his expenses.
Labour are favourites to retain all three seats, but the race in Rotherham is expected to be close, with the recent foster parent row thought to have boosted UKIP's chances.
