CCHQ campaign to target 'scivers'
The Conservative party has launched a campaign targeting marginal seats, which contrasts “hard working families” and “people who don’t work”.
Local media websites will carry adverts criticising some benefits claimant, displaying a picture of a man sitting at home on a sofa.
The campaign will target the same 60 seats at the Labour party are seeking to hit following their opposition to the Coalition’s commitment to the 1% welfare cap.
Labour's Vice President Michael Dugher said the campaign was a "new low" for the Tories, and accused the party of deliberately misleading the public on the issue.
