PM sets out G8 priorities
David Cameron has urged the G8 to take action in the fact of the “grave economic uncertainty”, as the UK’s presidency of the group begins.
In a letter to fellow leaders, the Prime Minister called for progress to be made in trade, tax co-operation, and transparency at their meeting in Northern Ireland in June, singling out an EU-US trade agreement as ”the biggest prize of all”.
Mr Cameron wrote: “The ambitious standards we set and the bold steps we take by working together through the G8 can make a tangible difference by firing up economies and driving prosperity, not just in our own countries, but all over the world.”
