Strong car production figures

Strong car production figures
The UK’s level of car production in 2012 was at its highest level since 2008, according to new figures today.

Exports rose 8% year-on-year to over 1.2m, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders found, with the total number of cars increasing to 1.46m.

The news comes shortly after Honda cut 800 jobs from its Swindon plant, citing falling European demand, though Jaguar Land Rover announced it was creating the same number at Solihull after strong growth in China.
