Blair warns of 'generation' threat
Tony Blair has echoed David Cameron’s claim that the West faces a “generational struggle” against Islamist extremism.

Speaking on the Andrew Marr Show, the former prime minister compared the threat to that posed by “revolutionary Communism”, and said Mr Cameron had taken the right approach to the problems in Mali.

"I think the better way to look at it is like the fight the West had over a long period of time with revolutionary Communism," Mr Blair said.

"It’ll happen in many different theatres, it will happen in many different ways, but the truth is you’ve no option but to confront it and it and to try over time to defeat it.
