Cam hails peace talks
David Cameron has hailed the “unprecedented level of co-operation” between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The Prime Minister held talks with the leaders of both countries at his Chequers residence and said afterwards the three countries “share the same vision for Afghanistan”.
The talks also put pressure on the Taliban to enter the political process, Mr Cameron said in a statement.
“The progress we’ve achieved today sends a very clear message to the Taliban. Now is the time for everyone to participate in a peaceful political process in Afghanistan.”
British aides have been working on the text of a strategic partnership between Afghanistan and Pakistan for months, according to the Times.
