Mitchell 'stitch up' claim

Mitchell 'stitch up' claim
Andrew Mitchell will tonight claim he was "stitched up" over the 'plebgate' incident in Downing St.

The former Chief Whip will also tell Channel 4's Dispatches programme that Downing St wanted him to "lie low" and wait for the furore to blow over.

Downing St has rejected the suggestion that the Cabinet Secretary's probe into the incident was 'botched' and said the Prime Minister had been "very supportive" of Mr Mitchell.
