Huhne recordings released
Chris Huhne dismissed claims around his speeding points as a "nonsense story" in a recorded phone conversation with his ex-wife released today.
The heated exchange between Mr Huhne and Vicky Pryce is one of a number of phone calls between the pair that have been released after they were played to Southwark Crown Court.
Ms Pryce today gave evidence in her trial over allegations she took speeding points for the former energy secretary. Also giving evidence was Sunday Times political editor Isabel Oakeshott.
Nick Clegg hinted this morning that Mr Huhne should give back his severance pay received after stepping down as a minister, following his guilty plea this week.
Speaking to LBC Radio , the Lib Dem leader said he understood why people thought his former colleague should give back the £17,000.
"At the end of the day, Chris Huhne has got to make that decision, but I totally understand why people think that now that he’s pleaded guilty and when he’s sentenced, that he should pay amends, if you like, for what’s happened," he said.
"But at the end of the day, Chris has got to make that decision and at the moment, I don’t yet know what the judge, of course, is going to hand out to him."
