UN meets over North Korea nuke
The United Nations Security Council has voted to "strongly condemn" North Korea after it carried out a third underground nuclear test.

Susan Rice, the American ambassador to the United Nations, hinted the Security Council would consider increasing sanctions: "We will not only tighten the existing measures, but we aim to augment the sanctions regime that is already quite strong as implemented."

Earlier today Foreign Secretary William Hague hit out at Pyongyang's "repeated provocations" and said he would be calling for a "robust response" from the UN Security Council. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon also attacked what he called the "deeply destabilising" move.
