MPs question 'economic experiments'
MPs have criticised the Government for embarking on a series of expensive economic "experiments" with unclear results.

In a report published this morning, the Public Accounts Committee said measures taken by the Treasury to stimulate growth have been "characterised by a lack of goals...with no means of monitoring progress".

The department's flagship lending scheme has also "failed", MPs added.
