PM regret at 'shameful' massacre

PM regret at 'shameful' massacre
David Cameron today laid a wreath at the site of what he called the "deeply shameful" massacre at Amritsar in north-west India.

On the final day of his three-day tour of the country, the Prime Minister expressed regret, but stopped short of a full apology for the killings.

Writing in the memorial book of condolence, Mr Cameron said the world "must never forget what happened here" and reiterated the UK's support for peaceful protest around the world.
