The Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed that Neil Wallis will not be charged over phone hacking.
The former executive editor of the News of the World was arrested in July 2011 as part of the Metropolitan Police's investigation into the News of the World phone hacking scandal.
A spokesperson for the CPS said: "Having carefully considered the matter, the CPS has concluded that there is insufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction in relation to that journalist."
