No clear winner in Italian polls
Italy appears bound for political deadlock with centre-left and centre-right parties neck-and-neck in the electoral race for the Senate.

While Italy's lower house appears to be in the control of the centre-left, the upper house is too close to call. Passing legislation requires control of both houses, and many commentators are suggesting the country could swiftly return to the polls if there is no clear winner.
