The Conservatives are 35 seats short of an overall majority, according to the latest projection from the PoliticsHome Poll Centre. New regional polling data also shows the Lib Dems falling back in many parts of the country.

The hung Parliament scenario is the only game in town for the chattering classes and bubble hous dwellers. Get out a bit more and you might get a very big surprise.

I'm afraid that ONE poll does not a slump make. Especially when it seems to be in disagreement with every other poll out there. You also have to look at the fieldwork - Lib Dems tend to be younger, single, middle class etc. - i.e. the people least likely to be by their phones on Bank Holiday Monday. We also need to look at phrasing, and whether or not the Sun has started actively putting its fingers on the scales after weeks of simply burying polls it didn't like.

I am heartened by the fact that the young people I meet as a college lecturer all seem to want to vote for the Lib Dems. There is definitely a youthful outlook to the Lib Dem vote with a clear 'want' for reform of the voting system.
