Building & Fire Safety: Preparing For The New Regime

Building & Fire Safety: Preparing For The New Regime

Venue & Event Details

The Building Safety Bill continues its passage through Parliament and is likely to receive Royal Assent between April and July 2022. This complex piece of legislation is part of the Government’s continuing efforts to respond to the Grenfell Tower tragedy and recommendations made following the Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety led by Dame Judith Hackitt. The new Building Safety Bill will be the biggest improvement to building safety in a generation, overhauling current regulations and setting out a clear pathway on how residential buildings are designed, constructed, altered and maintained.

The House Briefing will explore the key elements of the reforms and their implications on the future of the construction and residential property sectors. Hear from the Government, policy experts and leaders in industry who will share their insight and discuss tools and strategies to secure regulatory compliance and meet the new competency standards.

During this online event, we seek to get answers to questions including;

  • How will the reform promote a culture of building safety at all levels and across all roles?
  • How do you develop a framework of trust and competence to safeguard future building safety
  • What is the role of the Building Safety Regulator and how will it operate?
  • What is needed to deliver the “golden thread” in practice?
