The Gathering Storm: How Illicit Trade Plans to Ride Out the Covid-19 Pandemic
Tuesday 24th November 2020 | 10:00 - 10:45
On behalf of Japan Tobacco International (JTI), we are inviting you to join us for a virtual panel debate discussing how illicit trade has evolved during the Covid-19 situation, and how criminals are planning to ‘reap the rewards’ in the economic aftermath.
As well as examining the range of products subject to illicit trade, the webinar will use tobacco as a case study and discuss the themes from a report recently published by JTI - The Gathering Storm – that illustrates how the illegal tobacco trade has been operating during the Covid-19 situation.
The webinar will also explore the opportunities that Brexit and the end of the transition period may present in tackling illicit trade and the criminals behind it, through cooperation, education and enforcement.
