Hologic is an innovative medical technology company primarily focused on improving women’s health and well-being. It provides diagnostic, detection and surgical solutions that respond to an increasingly complex and demanding global healthcare environment and has over 30 years’ experience in population screening and testing.

In the UK, Hologic provides the technology that underpins the majority of breast and cervical cancer screening and sexually transmitted infection testing, as well as gynaecological and other surgical services for women.

The company has sites across the world including in Manchester, which is the location of its International (ex-US) headquarters.  This site includes tech transfer and manufacturing as well as being the site for our Financial Centre of Excellence for EMEA, LATAM and APAC. In 2019, we embarked on a on a multi-million pound investment in our Manchester facility resulting in its rapid expansion, significantly increasing its production capacity and strengthening the UK’s diagnostic infrastructure.

We believe our unique passion for Women’s Health is urgently needed today. For far too long, women’s healthcare needs have been minimised by governments and healthcare systems in emerging —and developed— countries around the world. We are inspired by the deep belief that our success as a company will fundamentally improve the health of millions of women and families globally.

This resulted in the collaboration with leading analytics and consulting firm Gallup, Inc. on the creation of the Hologic Global Women’s Health Index, the largest and most comprehensive assessment of women’s health in the world. This multi-year initiative will track critical markers of women’s health and safety by countries and territories over time. It will include individual responses from more than 120,000 people across 116 countries and territories and in 40 languages.

Hologic empowers people to live healthier lives everywhere, every day.
