Former Labour leader and independent MP Jeremy Corbyn has held onto his seat in Islington North.
The former Labour leader managed to hold onto the seat where he has served as an MP since 1983 as an independent with 24,120 votes, seeing off a challenge from the Labour candidate Praful Nargund who secured 16,873 votes in second place.
The Green Party came third with 2,660. The Conservatives in fourth place on 1,950 votes, and the Liberal Democrats in fifth place with 1,661.
Corbyn, who was replaced as Labour leader by Keir Starmer in November 2020, was suspended from the Labour Party that year after claiming allegations of antisemitism in the party had been overstated for political reasons under his leadership.

It came after the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) published a report which found Labour was "responsible for unlawful acts of harassment and discrimination" against Jewish members and the party had breached Equality Act during Corbyn's leadership of the party.
Starmer subsequently said Corbyn would not be permitted to stand as a Labour candidate in this year's election, with the Islington North MP deciding to defend his seat as an independent when Tory leader Rishi Sunak called a general election in May.
