House of Lords: 

The Bishop of Derby retired on 31st August.

House of Commons: 

Frank Field resigned the Labour Whip and now sits as Independent.

Government Departments: 

Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport 

Royal Albert Hall Council - John Whittingdale appointed as a Trustee.

Sport England - Tim Hollingsworth named as Chief Executive, replacing Jennie Price in November

Department of Health and Social Care 

Public Health England - Julia Goodfellow appointed as Chair of the Advisory Board.

Department for International Development 

Independent Commission for Aid Impact - Tamsyn Barton selected as the preferred candidate to succeed Alison Evans as Commissioner.

Department for Transport 

Maritime and Coastguard Agency - Brian Johnson appointed as Chief Executive, replacing Alan Massey on 31st October.

Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy 

UK Research and Innovation - Sam Stacey appointed as Challenge Director for Transforming Construction and Roger McKinlay as Challenge Director for Quantum Technologies.

Devolved Authorities: 

Welsh Government 
Local Democracy and Boundary Commission for Wales - Theodore Joloza and Julie May reappointed as members.

Local Authorities: 
North Ayrshire Council - Elma Murray to retire as Chief Executive later in the year.

By-election Result 30th August 
Sevenoaks Council – Brian Carroll elected for Farningham, Horton Kirby & South Darenth -  Conservative hold. (Ingrid Tennessee disqualified for non-attendance).

Industry 

Interest Groups 

King's Fund - Richard Murray promoted to become Chief Executive, replacing Chris Ham at the end of 2018.

RNLI - Paul Boissier to retire as Chief Executive in 2019.

Consultancies 
Portland - Steffan Williams hired to head a new financial communications practice.

Trade Associations 
Association of Charitable Foundations - Janet Morrison to replace Amanda Jordan as Chair in November.
