Zac Goldsmith to back leaving the EU

Zac Goldsmith has announced he will back Britain leaving the European Union.

The Tory candidate for Mayor of London told the Sunday Times: “My vote will be to leave.”

He rejected the argument that the capital’s financial services sector would be damaged by Brexit.

“Greater London isn’t a minor appendage to the EU. It is a global city, with global reach,” he added.

“We dominate in financial services, tech, media, culture and much more besides. London will flourish whatever the outcome of the referendum.”
