1 min read

The Road Haulage Association, as a certified End Point Assessor organisation has now evaluated its first ten HGV driver trainees as part of its challenge to help bring through the next generation of HGV drivers.

Commenting, RHA chief executive Richard Burnett said: “There’s a massive skills shortage gap in the haulage sector and the industry needs to do every it can to get promote HGV driving as a career of choice.

“It is essential that we attract the very best new talent into the industry and ensure that they are trained and assessed to the very highest standards. The training programme they undertake is rigorous as is the assessment at the end of the course. We’re very proud to be able to deliver that function.

“The RHA have been at the very forefront of the development of the New Trailblazer Apprenticeship Standards. Our role as a certified End Point Assessor will allow us to ensure the high standards required are met by those taking the HGV Driver Apprenticeship.”
